Background
About the Company:
Honestbee is a B2C start-up based in Singapore that does concierge and grocery delivery service. It has 2 users; the grocery deliverymen (bees) and the consumers who order the delivery.
My Responsibilities.
I was in the design team that consisted of 5 other members, and as an intern did not make a significant contribution to the company. However, I learnt the basics of UI/UX design here through the multiple projects given to me. I was also involved in crafting their marketing visuals.

Project 1.
Beechievement
Project Background
The aim is to motivate the bees and make delivering groceries more fun and engaging.
The aim is to motivate the bees and make delivering groceries more fun and engaging.
Process
- Research how other brands gamify their apps (e.g. Starbucks Points, Xbox's achievement unlocked)
- Study the multiple scenarios bees would have to see if the app can encourage a certain behaviour and also determine the reward system (e.g. taking weekend job)
- Rough sketch of multiple rough concepts on paper
- Select a few and develop high fidelity wireframes
- After discussion with the design team, select a concept and further develop it
Chosen Concept
Bees would receive rewards in forms of badges, called Beechivements. There are different types of badges (with different designs) for different types of accomplishments. Once a bee receive a Golden Beechievement of each field, he/she will be rewarded with an honestbee voucher. As the Bees earn more badges, he/she will level up.

Challenge
The challenge here was designing the gameplay. I had to determine how the app could motivate "Bees" to work harder. The rewards should not be too easy to achieve, nor should it be too difficult. It was tough designing the mechanics behind the reward system. I had to discuss with the "Bee Manager" to understand the habits of "Bees". For example, the "Great Eyes" badge is awarded after "Bees" get 5 items, which they would usually achieve in ~3 outings. This was a number I obtained from the "Bee Manager".

Outcome
Project 2.
Bee Admin Panel
Project Background
The Bee Admin Panel is to be used by the "Bee Managers", people who assign jobs to the Bees. The main aim of the panel is to enable "Bee Managers" to group the jobs to a single task for the bees.
Factors Considered
1. Weight of the items (determines the vehicle the Bees need to have. if >10kg, no motorcycle's shown)
2. Distance between the jobs

Process
- Research on existing task management processes, e.g. taxis.
- Speak to "Bee Manager" to understand their needs and concerns
- Rough sketch of multiple rough concepts on paper
- Select a few and develop mid-fidelity wireframes
- Discuss with "Bee Manager" + Design Team to see which concept is most suitable
- Gain feedback and make adjustments to the concepts
- Repeat step 4-6 until a concept is chosen
- Develop high-fidelity wireframes for the concept
Challenge
The challenge here was catering to the different scenarios and finding an appropriate logic to group the "Bees" and an appropriate interaction with the platform. I had several discussions with the "Bee Managers" to fully understand their concerns and identify which design is suitable for them.
