Project 1.
Website
Project Background
The website sets the tone for the company's branding. Also, it needs to be clear and straightforward in communicating what RateX does.

Process
- Sketch out concepts & designs on pieces of paper
- Create quick low-fidelity prototypes of user flows on Illustrator
- A/B testing with colleagues and friends
- Create high-fidelity prototype of the suitable design
- Build website on Webflow
Challenge
The main challenge here would be identifying what user wants to see in the homepage. We were deciding between showing RateX's values or how RateX works. After testing, we decided on the former.

Character Designs
Project Background
The characters tie in with RateX's branding, that RateX is a young & vibrant company. The characters should be simple enough to be adopted by future designers, yet unique enough to show RateX's identity.

Process
- Sketch out concepts on pieces of paper
- Illustrate character designs on Illustrator (only outlines)
- Play around with the colours
Challenge
The key challenge here is devising the mechanism for the illustration, so 1) other designers can adapt to it and 2) new characters can be created quickly. Ultimately, the characters are created with simple shapes and have different parts in different layers for easy manipulation. This was a challenge for me as I don't have a graphic-design background (am a self-learner).
